HOW SCORING WORKS

Only your first 8 blocks in any one city count. Covering two cities beats carpet-bombing one.

THE RULES

Short version: do the work. These exist so the people who actually walk around in the cold are the ones who get paid.

• Your phone has to agree with your pin.

  We compare the location your phone reports at submit against the pin you dropped, then throw the reading away. Too far apart and the flyer still goes on the map and still earns points — it just doesn't score in the contest.

• The same photo only counts once. Ever. For anyone.

  Every photo is fingerprinted. Re-submitting one, or using someone else's, scores nothing.

• One prize per linked account.

  If the same X or TikTok handle would take two of the ten slots, it takes the higher one and everyone below moves up.

• Flyers have to be real, in public, and yours to put up.

  Don't fly-post where it's illegal, don't cover anyone else's notices, and don't put them on private property without asking.

• Clips are welcome. It's the still that counts.

  Attach a short video (under 10s) of you putting a flyer up if you like — we grab a frame from it and that frame is what's fingerprinted and shown. A video is never a way around the same-photo rule.

• We can disqualify anyone caught gaming it.

  Judgement call, applied to contest scoring only — your points and your flyers stay.

Live, and recalculated on every load by the same code that will settle the week — what you see here is what pays. Ranks move as people log flyers and as scans come in. Ties go to whoever started earlier.

QUESTIONS

What exactly is a "block"?

A ~280m square on a grid laid over the whole world — roughly a city block. Two flyers 31m apart are almost always in the same one. To score another block, walk to the next street.

Do stickers count the same as posters?

Yes. Every format carries your QR. A sticker sheet is 20 flyers for one sheet of paper; each one you put up and log is a drop like any other.

My location was off, or I said no to the prompt. Did I lose the flyer?

No. The flyer is on the map and you got your 15 points. It just doesn't count toward the contest — only drops where your phone agreed with your pin do. Allow location next time.

I'm in a small town. Can I compete with someone in London?

On blocks, absolutely — space is space. On scans, a busier street will get more, which is why scans are capped per flyer and weighted at a fifth of a block. Effort is the bigger lever on purpose.

Can I enter from any country?

Yes — the map is global and so is the contest. Prizes are paid in $CATE, so you'll need a Solana wallet to receive them. Void where prohibited; you must be 18 or over.

When and how do I get paid?

The week closes Friday 2 October, 8:00 PM EDT (Sat 00:00 UTC). The top ten are contacted through the X or TikTok account they linked, asked to prove it's theirs, and paid in $CATE within a few days of confirming.

What if two people tie?

Whoever started earlier — the earlier first eligible flyer in the week — takes the higher rank. Stated up front so a tie on the 10th/11th line is never an argument.

Can I use my own flyer design?

Not for the contest. The QR has to be one generated here so scans can be attributed to you — and the six formats are free and print on any home printer.
